Job Description

 The Senior Vice President of Human Resources at CBS Interactive will play a crucial role in driving the business and people strategies for the organization.  She/he must demonstrate the combination of business acumen and Human Resource functional knowledge to guide the development of HR strategies that will attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent who will drive CBS Interactive™s business success. 

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the SVP participates as business partner and member of the executive team.  As such this individual will contribute to CBS Interactive™s overall strategy and business plans both from a broad business perspective and with a focus on most effectively investing in and tapping the human resources of the company.  The SVP, HR will have global responsibility for all aspects of Human Resources management including talent acquisition and talent management strategies, compensation and benefits, organization development, training and leadership development, diversity, and employee relations.  The individual will have specific focus on sustaining the CBS Interactive culture and innovative employee climate and will be a resource to each of the business unit heads.

 

Specific Objectives for This Position:

·          Add value to the development of the business strategy and establish the strategic Human Resources agenda to ensure that the business needs of CBS Interactive are anticipated and addressed

·          Participate as a member of the Executive Committee with a particular focus on the company™s human capital and how that resource is best leveraged, led and managed

·          Advise the CEO and executive team on organizational design, change management and aligning the workforce with company goals

·          Guide the development and implementation of employee-related programs and processes that will both support the business requirements of CBS Interactive, drive a culture of success, and reinforce the attractiveness of CBS Interactive as an employer

·          Lead the development of metrics for CBS Interactive and for the HR function that will guide leadership in measuring and managing organizational performance

·          Implement integrated performance management systems to ensure focus on business goals, development of employee capabilities and career potential, aligned reward systems and retention of talent

·          Lead the organization in implementing change, coaching executives and managers in the most effective communication and implementation of change

·          Develop a œcounselor relationship with CEO and other Business Unit Leaders. Provide a clear understanding of the human resource impact of operational and financial decisions under consideration.

·          Become the œconscience of the organization and the advocate of the Company always doing the right thing.

·          Lead, manage, coach and develop the HR team for continued and higher contributions to CBS Interactive business

The ideal candidate will have a strong background of demonstrated Human Resources leadership, having driven HR programs in rapidly developing, changing environments and having functioned successfully as a significant and accomplished HR business leader.

 

 

Functional expertise

 

Broad and deep experience as an HR generalist with knowledge of HR business processes and with a particular emphasis on the areas of organization design, change management, experienced in designing and implementing proactive strategies to address business issues

 

Knowledgeable about new thinking and innovative approaches to managing human capital

 

Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and respond to HR and company metrics

 

 

Business knowledge

 

Broad business and financial understanding and ability to apply to human capital implications

 

Has applied financial acumen to department budgeting, cost projections, metrics

 

 

Required Skills/Experience

Requirements:

 

15 years Human Resources experience, with at least 5 years in senior management roles

 

Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, change management

 

Bachelor™s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or other advanced degree is preferred

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  

Experience in on-line and/or media industries preferred
