Reporting to the Region Senior Vice President for California, the VP of Human Resources will be responsible for providing overall strategic HR leadership to the company, including strategy across the Region, coordination of strategies and tactics across the markets, oversight of initiatives and operations in the field, planning, budgeting, and measurement of results. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and practices for the region: including employment, labor relations, compensation, learning and development, organizational development, and employee services. Coaching and mentoring the existing teams of HR, Recruiting and Learning & Development professionals will also be a key responsibility. The Vice President of Human Resources will be tasked with taking what we have already developed and building on it to make Comcast an employer of choice. In addition, the successful candidate will project strong leadership skills with a high degree of influence and persuasion to direct, inspire and develop a high performing team of human resource professionals in multiple locations to superior levels of accomplishment. He/She will provide guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound human resources management and adherence to Corporate and Division policy, state, federal and local laws as well as earn credibility; exercise sound judgment; communicate rationale for decision making or recommendations to multiple stakeholders.
Requirements include a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 10-15 years progressive experience in HR Management for Senior HR Professionals (Manager and Above); Masters degree strongly preferred. A proven track record of innovative HR management, preferably in a high-tech environment and the ability to lead/inspire an organization toward developing mutually rewarding relationships with customers and clients. An entrepreneurial spirit and able to excel in a team environment to produce outstanding results and the ability to serve as a strategic business partner and advisor to senior executives with a solid track record of achievement. Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead by example in terms of creating an exciting environment for employees and the company to ensure collective success. Ability to function as an internal coach to management, peers and others by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions and representing the employee perspective.
