New Director Introduction Letter
Posted by Ryon HarmsDear Member,
It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Director of the McDermott & Bull Executive Network. As a longtime member and somebody that has benefited immensely from your generosity, I'm looking forward to this new role as an opportunity to give back.
I've been fortunate enough to be working with the McDermott & Bull Executive Network on a part-time consulting basis over the last six months. During that time, we've gained traction with several important initiatives, including the Executive Introduction Program, Executive Forums and a return to complimentary networking events for all members, among several other improvements. My new, expanded role will allow me to accelerate that momentum.
In 2010, we will strengthen the community in three ways:
Relationships - Offer innovative relationship building services that help you connect the dots between where you are and where you want to be.
Technology - Leverage the Web, our website (www.mbexec.net) and mobile communications to help you expand your sphere of influence, be organized and stay in the know.
Pay it Forward - Continue and further enhance the pay it forward culture that has defined the McDermott & Bull Executive Network since 2002.
We know you can attend any number of networking events. There are too many to count. However, the McDermott & Bull Executive Network is comprised of a full time staff focused on helping you find and build relationships with peers that keep you on track and that won't let you fail.
We are firm believers in setting SMART goals and sharing those goals with the people that can help us get there. I find that sharing goals is a great way to stay accountable and focused. Below you'll see the top three internal performance goals that Program Coordinator, Kelsey Richards and I have set for the remainder of 2010:
Host 5 Sold-Out Executive Forums - Following the great success of our "Relationship Building in the Digital Age Forum" in November, we have decided to expand this program to all the regions we serve. We want members to walk away from these Forums with actionable, real world solutions to meet today's demanding business challenges. To view upcoming Forums click here.
Maintain 400+ Executive Members - Paying members get all the benefits of membership, including exclusive programs, free attendance at Forums and access to the McDermott & Bull Executive Network staff, as well as several new services in the works such as Transition Accountability Groups.
Attract 6 New Sponsors - Sponsorships will allow us to keep networking events free for all members. Moving forward, we plan to integrate sponsors into more of our initiatives to create a win-win for everyone involved.
At the end of the day, we can't come close to achieving these ambitious goals without you. Please consider my email (harms@mbexec.net) an open line of communication to let us know what we're doing right and what we could be doing better to make the McDermott & Bull Executive Network the most productive network of your career. Most importantly, feel free to send me an email to let me know how I can personally help you achieve success.
I look forward to shaking hands with each and every one of you at upcoming events and Forums.
Sincerely,
Ryon Harms
